OPPO officially cemented its arrival in the UK last night with the Chinese tech giant hosting an event at Tower Bridge in London to discuss its smartphone plans.

At the exhibition, that was attended by Express.co.uk, the firm announced it is bringing its RX17 Pro, RX17 Neo and Find X smartphones to the UK.

While the Find X is the firm’s flagship smartphone, the RX17 Pro represents its mid-tier offering that boasts a number of notable features.

First and foremost, the RX17 Pro is immediately striking for its display that is incredibly similar to the OnePlus 6T’s panel thanks to its teardrop-shaped notch.

The RX17 Pro offers a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that outputs content at a 1080p resolution.

Moreover, the screen offered also has a density of 402-pixels-per-inch.

The phone’s fingerprint scanner is housed underneath the display and allows for an unlocking process similar to what is already present on the OnePlus 6T and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

The OPPO handset is immediately striking in its “Radiant Mist” colour that oozes gradients of purple and blue depending on the angle light is striking it.

Powering the Chinese device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 chipset that is accompanied by 6GB of RAM.

RX17 Pro comes with a 3,700mAh battery that can charged incredibly quickly thanks to OPPO’s new SuperVOOC process.

OPPO claims SuperVOOC is capable of providing users with a 40 percent charge in just 10 minutes and an entire charge in 40 minutes.

Express.co.uk has been testing the RX17 Pro and can confirm it is certainly the fastest-charging phone around.

Moreover, the phone comes with 128GB of internal storage.

The OPPO RX17 Pro comes with three cameras on its rear; a 12-megapixel main sensor, a 20-megapixel secondary sensor and a 3D time-of-flight (TOF) stereo camera.

During the initial unveiling of the handset last year, the Chinese tech giant was eager to discuss the capabilities of the device, especially in low-light conditions.

The RX17 Pro does come with a dedicated night setting in its camera app that attempts to brighten up shots while also retaining details.

Unfortunately, the OPPO device arrives pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo and not Google’s latest and greatest Android 9 Pie software.

During the unveiling of the handset in Milan last year, OPPO told Express.co.uk it plans to bring Android 9 Pie to the device, but no firm release date has been discussed yet.

Following the phone’s announcement in Milan last year, Express.co.uk went hands-on with it and gave our early verdict.

However, this publication has since been testing the phone more extensively and will be delivering our full review very soon.

The OPPO RX17 Pro is available right now through Carphone Warehouse.

The device comes in at £549, meaning it costs £50 more than the entry-level OnePlus 6T.

It is worth noting OPPO’s RX17 Neo and Find X handsets cost £319 and £799 respectively.
