Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 3 is launching next week and it includes a major update COD Warzone. The new COD experience has proven a hit with fans but currently doesn’t include all the feature available in other Battle Royale games. But fans have spotted something that suggests at least one big change is being worked for the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 3.
As with Season 2, the next Battle Pass will include unlockable items across MW and Warzone.
This shared ecosystem proved a hit with fans in previous months and may mean a few more freebies thrown in for Battle Royale gamers.
However, Much of Season 3 will still be dedicated to Call of Duty Modern Warfare, with new modes, maps and weapons expected.
A few leaks have already popped up, including a map from Modern Warfare 3 called Village, and another from the original MW, named Backlot.
Dataminers have also found references to Creator Codes, with the leaked blurb adding: “Support your favourite Call of Duty creator with your in-game purchases. Creators will receive a portion of each purchase made using their code. This code will expire after 14 days.”
However, it’s unclear how this will fit into Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 3 in the coming weeks.
So with so much stuff being planned for Modern Warfare, what can fans hope for in Call of Duty Warzone?
Well, fans have spotted a group of four parachuters in the official announcement artwork, confirming the launch of Season 3.
And that indeed suggests that a Quads playlist is now in the works for COD Warzone.
A recent leak also posted that Quads would be included in COD Battle Royale in the future, so this could mean it will be going live next week.
Quads and Duos modes have been requested ever since Call of Duty Warzone was launched in March, and it looks like fans will be getting their wish on Wednesday, April 8.
Other modes are also expected to launch for Warzone, but it’s unclear if this will happen during Season 3, or if it is something Activision is planning for later in 2020.
For now, all we know officially is that Season 3 will be launching on April 8 across all platforms.
That means PS4, Xbox One and PC gamers will receive an update at the same time, unlike with the launch of the Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Campaign.
That is currently only available on PS4 and will remain that way until the end of the month.
The Modern Warfare 2 campaign is currently available to pre-order and will officially launch on Xbox One and PC on April 30.
While MW fans are now firmly focused on the launch of Season 3, Activision is offering plenty of time to complete the current Battle Pass.
This includes offering Double XP, alongside allowing all Battle Pass owners to redeem ten free tiers this weekend.
Battle Pass owners only have to login before April 5 at 11PM PT to redeem the free tiers, which can be found in the ‘Just For You’ Store section.
“Wherever you were before on the Battle Pass system, now you will progress forward ten tiers when you redeem this free gift,” a message from Activision explains.
“For players who have reached any tier above tier 90, they will be gifted tiers to reach tier 100, and any remaining tiers will be allocated to next Season’s Battle Pass.
“E.g. if you are at tier 95, you will be gifted five tiers this Season and five tiers once you purchase next Season’s Battle Pass.
“Head in-game before April 5 to redeem this gift. Go to the ‘Just For You’ section in the Store tab from the Multiplayer, Co-Op, or Warzone lobby.
“There you will find the 10 tier gift, and you can redeem it to apply it to your account. You must redeem the ten free tiers gift in-game during this event period to have the ten free tiers applied to your account.”
