The Italian Grand Prix was red flagged on lap 27 after Charles Leclerc crashed hard into the tyre wall at Parabolica. Ferrari already had Sebastian Vettel retire from the race early on after suffering a break failure.
And there were already fears that Leclerc may also suffer a similar issue on his Ferrari car.
The 22-year-old was struggling to battle his way through the field anyway.
But Leclerc soon crashed out of the race in dramatic fashion as he smashed into the tyre wall at the final corner.
Fortunately, Leclerc was able to walk away from the crash but it was clear that he was partially stunned by the impact.
“It’s a big crash,” he said.
