The electrifying form of Raul Jimenez at Wolves has reportedly caught the eye of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who wants to partner him alongside Karim Benzema from next season.

Mexico international Jimenez has scored 22 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for Wolves this season.

The club had an early start to the 2019-20 season due to Europa League qualifying but Jimenez’s relentless scoring form has been a constant under Nuno Espirito Santo.

And according to AS in Spain, the 28-year-old Jimenez has caught the eye of none-other than Real boss Zidane.

The report says that Zidane believes Jimenez would be an ideal fit either alongside Benzema or leading the line in his absence.

The mooted transfer spells more bad news for Luka Jovic, who has fallen further and further out of favour with Zidane and Real since his switch from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.

Jimenez also has a point to prove in Spain, particularly in Madrid.

Jimenez and Wolves made it to the last-16 of the Europa League before football was halted

He spent a season with Real’s fierce rivals, Atletico, back in the 2014-15 season but only mustered one goal in 28 appearances under Diego Simeone’s guidance.

Wolves were halfway through their Europa League last-16 tie against Olympiacos when the football season was paused due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Jimenez’s team had drawn 1-1 away to the Greek side but are yet to play the return leg at Molineaux.
